Its a very easy user experience, the set up of the sim literally takes a click or two and surprisingly I got data everywhere in Tunisia even in some parts of the desert somehow. Would definitely recommend because if you travel a decent amount the cashback system is good for saving money. What is a travel eSIM?
A travel eSIM is a digital SIM card you install on your phone before or during a trip. Instead of swapping a physical SIM card, your phone downloads the carrier profile over the internet by scanning a QR code. The eSIM connects to local mobile networks in your destination so you get data without paying international roaming fees.
Which phones support eSIM?
Modern phones with eSIM support include iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and most flagship Android phones released since 2020. To confirm, open Settings → Cellular (iOS) or Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (Android) and look for an "Add eSIM" option.
How fast does an eSIM activate?
Installation takes about 30 seconds once you scan the QR code on Wi-Fi. The eSIM activates the moment your phone connects to a partner network in the destination — typically right after you land. Validity starts at first connection, not at purchase, so you can buy days ahead.
Will my regular phone number still work?
Yes. Modern phones run two SIMs at once. You receive calls and texts on your normal number while using the travel eSIM for data. Many travelers keep their home SIM for bank/2FA SMS codes and set the travel eSIM as the data line.
How much data do I need for a trip?
For light use (maps, messaging), 1–3 GB per week is plenty. For moderate use (social, music, video calls), budget 5 GB per week. Heavy streaming or tethering: 10 GB+ per week. Unlimited plans have no fair-use cap — full speed the whole time, however much you use.
Does the eSIM include calls and SMS?
Most travel eSIMs are data-only, including ours by default. Apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage, and Signal handle calls and texts over data for free. If your trip needs a local number, contact us and we’ll point you at a plan that includes it.
What happens if the eSIM doesn’t activate?
We refund in full, no questions asked. Activation failures usually mean a carrier-locked phone or software too old for modern eSIM provisioning. Email support@esimgenius.ai with your order ID and we’ll refund within one business day.
